Snow!

December 15th, 2008 by Christina

We get so little of it. I love it so. I can’t speak for anyone else but the timing was perfect. Just wrapped up a very fun event for youth and mentors on Saturday – fell into deep, deep, catch-up sleep at 8:45 p.m. And woke to blowy, snowy magic.

we headed down to belmont for some tasty breakfast and coffee, took a short walk to visit our favorite house on the market (these days) grabbed a few movies for a day on the couch and headed home.

Oh yeah — And I had a snow day from work today — perfect timing.

28 days (or later)

August 19th, 2008 by Christina

I’m going to try and change in ~28 days. Not a brain eating zombie kind of change; something a little more community-friendly.

I’ve begun to explore my future career options and life coaching, occupational therapy, and counseling have risen to the top of my list. Through the round about way you find people, I found Denise Linn, a Soul Coach out of central Calif. Soul coaching seems similar to life coaching but approaches making a connection to your genuine life less from “corporate keyword speak” that some find comfortable, to “more holistic, transformational speak” that resonates with me.

I figure the best way for me to get a sense of what it’s like, short of hiring my own soul coach, is to buy her book and do it. So here i go. And day One is a doozy. I’ve already given myself permission to not complete this project in 28 consecutive 24-hour periods, but to instead devote a proper amount of time that each section requires of me, while still holding down a 9/5 and getting to know my new husband.

We did, err Do

Seems fitting to start my first blog with a post about my first marriage (which is not intended to imply that i plan for others; marriages that is).

Is this considered a public display of affection? My apologies for being so crass right out the door.

After four very fast and mostly fun months of wedding blog stalking, planning, and diy — we’re married!

We got hitched in Yachats on the central Oregon coast, July 26. It’s a magical little village with truly special people — i don’t think we’ve ever met a single not nice person in Yachats. Actually one, but i think she was from Waldport. It’s an enchanting place and i’m so happy we chose it.
